The Level 2 Award in Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People and Adults at Risk qualification is intended for those who are working with children, young people and adults at risk, including those in voluntary or unpaid positions.

This qualification is also suitable for those who have a specific responsibility in safeguarding and protecting in environments such as the NHS, education providers and social services.

During this half day course, learners will gain an understanding of how to safeguard and protect children, young people and adults. Topics covered include safeguarding and protection responsibilities, different forms of abuse and how to respond to disclosure or suspected abuse.

Syllabus

Understand safeguarding and protection responsibilities.
Know legislation, statutory guidance and national policies relevant to safeguarding and protection.
Understand abuse and the indicators of abuse.
Know how to respond to disclosure or suspected abuse.

People working with children, young people and adults at risk. Particularly those with a responsibility for safeguarding and protecting.
